Employer launch guide
From census to enrollment

How to set up a CHOICE Arrangement

An employer can begin the setup process in about 10 minutes. Final launch follows review of the contribution design, formal documents, notices, administrator setup and employee enrollment.

The employer launch sequence

  1. Upload the employee census.
Include age or date of birth, home ZIP code, employment status and eligible classes needed for accurate market and affordability modeling.
  2. Establish the benefits budget.
Model monthly amounts for employees, spouses and dependents and test the total annual employer cost.
  3. Review affordability and market fit.
Evaluate lowest-cost Silver benchmarks, employee cost after the allowance, carrier access, networks and prescriptions.
  4. Select administration and payment.
Choose an administrator for substantiation and reimbursement, then establish secure premium-funding instructions.
  5. Adopt the arrangement.
Complete the employer resolution, plan document, Summary Plan Description and required employee notice.
  6. Invite employees to shop.
Send the notice and enrollment instructions, then direct employees to compare and enroll in qualifying individual medical coverage.

What “10 minutes” means

The online intake can capture the initial employer decisions quickly. It does not eliminate compliance review, signed documents, notice timing, administrator configuration or the time employees need to select coverage.
